The Institute for Performance Research (IPR)

The Institute for Performance Research (IPR) engages in world class and internationally recognised research. There are currently two Research Centres in IPR, Research in Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity (SEPA), and Conceptualized Arts Practices (CAP) The latter includes a new group set up to develop inter-relations across arts-science boundaries: e.g., cognitive neuroscience and music; biomechanics and dance; theatre and digital technologies.

Research Activities

The range of subject areas offered at MMU Cheshire involves some of the most successful research teams in the University and provides opportunities for research degrees in a variety of fields, supported by taught postgraduate programmes. Most of our staff are researchers and professional practitioners, contributing to our growing reputation at an international level.
