The Department also offers the following undergraduate degree programmes:
Because of the multidisciplinarity of our academic portfolio we are in a unique position to offer a range of opportunities for postgraduate research from taught MA provision to M/Phil-PhD.
All of our academic staff are engaged in teaching within the department and all of our teaching is informed by our academic research and scholarly activities.
The Department has strong regional, national and international links which provide our students with a wealth of opportunities and options (European Exchange Programmes). We have excellent links too with many of our local employers, agencies, schools and communities. Some of our students take the opportunity to work within the community as part of their studies in the private or public sector or join voluntary groups. In some of our undergraduate degree programmes these opportunities are actually part of the course – in particular, Outdoor Studies –with field trips and placements – national and international; Abuse Studies –where students work and study within the community and in Film and Television Studies - students have the opportunity right from year one to work with the British Youth Film Academy, which is located with us in the department, to make and distribute a film. Visit our Subject Pages to see the range of opportunities offered.
