Studying Sport Science Distance Learning with MMU is a unique opportunity to be involved in an vibrant and stimulating Department. In what we think is a first in flexible learning we have developed bespoke learning resources that are delivered through Apple iBooks. Using our interactive eBooks in conjunction with support from experienced tutors you are guided through the exciting and challenging world of Sport Science.
This website describes the project, introduces you to the development team, and showcases some of the resources that have been created.
Staff from the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at the University's Cheshire Faculty have created interactive eBooks in physiology, biomechanics, psychology and practical skills as the core resources for their undergraduate part time distance learning programme.
The programme has a long history of leading the market in distance learning education in exercise and sport science, and two years ago we undertook a major redevelopment of the online resources to retain its position at the cutting edge of DL provision.
The team behind the project includes Adrian Burden (the Department's Learning and Teaching Co-ordinator), Damian Keil (Programme Leader) and Adam Palin (eLearning Technologist).
Got an iPad? Then why not check out a sample of our eBook. This gives a flavour of the type of content that we deliver. Featuring in-house videos, Khan Academy videos, sample quizzes*, links to apps and websites and much more.
