The Sport Development Unit (SDU) is a scheme specifically designed for students and staff who have interests in sport and the arts. The programme aims at providing more opportunities for students and staff to coach, volunteer and event manage in primary, secondary and other sporting and art organisations.

The Sport Development Unit comprises of three subsidiary programmes, namely School and Club Coaching, Football Academy and Coach Education.

The coach education unit offers a portfolio of National Governing Body coaching awards and Sport Coach UK courses that are accessible to the general public.
