Faculty Student Academic Experience Group (FASEG)

The Student Experience Group meets once per term with the primary function to discuss in a wider forum issues, activities, initiatives, etc., determined by the sub groups.

The Student Academic Experience Group is inclusive and sub group leaders are drawn from across the faculty, these leaders draw sub group membership from across the faculty (bottom up approach) thus ensuring representation of key areas that relate to the totality of the ‘student academic experience’

The Student Academic Experience Group:

  • Has been developed from a number of ‘sub groups’ each having a specific focus. Sub groups have fluidity in terms of membership and functionality are amended/replaced where appropriate. Groups report to FSAEG once per term which in turn reports to Faculty Academic Development Group (FADC)
  • Membership include: Programme and Subject leaders/coordinators, Learning & Teaching Support Group Manager, Faculty Student Support, Library Services, Quality Administrator, Student Union Representative, Departmental Learning and Teaching Representatives and where (and when) appropriate draw on the expertise of other faculty colleagues determined by the group’s agenda
  • Is a standing agenda item on FADC and where appropriate reports directly to Faculty Executive Group (FEG)
  • Where appropriate provides feedback on University initiatives, policies, documents e.g. Thresholds Standards, Student Induction and Transition Framework and develops a faculty approach to the delivery of such initiatives
  • Is an opportunity for colleagues to shape the development of the faculty in enhancing the student experience

Faculty Learning, Assessment and Teaching Group (FLAT)

Faculty Learning, Assessment and Teaching Group (FLAT) are subgroup of FSAEG.

The main aims of the subgroup are to share good practice in Learning Teaching and Assessment and where appropriate lobby committees such as Faculty Academic Development Group (FADC) to support the work of the group. In this context the work of the group embraces innovation and creativity in the development and promotion and dissemination Learning Teaching and Assessment activities across the Faculty.


Centre for Learning and Teaching (CeLT)

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CeLT) works to secure a consistent, high quality student experience through leadership, support and guidance relating to all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment at MMU.
